So, it’s December, which means the Christmas baking blitz begins in earnest! This seems like a good time to remind you about the Christmas baking recipes on the blog, which are all linked in the list at the bottom of the page, as well as a few of my favourites from elsewhere on the web.
I also wanted to let you know a bit about my baking plans, as I did in 2014 and 2016.
As in previous years, I’m publishing this while in progress, rather than as a completed record after Christmas, to combine the roles of running sheet and some form of commitment. We’re going away for Christmas this year, so I’m trying to keep the list a little more modest (for me!), but it’s so hard to cut anything off!
I think of it as a little like decorating the Christmas tree – use lots of favourites, ditch a couple that are past their due date, and always add a couple of new ones!
As always, I’ll be interested to hear any feedback along the way…like which recipes (not already recorded) you’d like to see first, and any thoughts on baking order.
And if you think you might be going to be the recipient of some Christmas goodies this year, and you want them to be a surprise, then look away now 🙂

that’s often the trickiest – especially finding Australian!

You put me to shame Beck. I used to love the ritual of baking Christmas cake in the middle of the year and giving it a drink of brandy one a week until Christmas. Sadly, dried fruit has become the mortal enemy of my entire family. I will be baking gingerbread though.

Once a week for six months, wow! Adults only then 😉 Mr GP loves fruit cake, he’s already finished the first one 🙂 but I’m making gingerbread with young Mr MC this afternoon…
